The funny thing about spending a good bit of time in Southern Africa is that when you get comfortable in your day-to-day routine, you generally could be anywhere, since life has such similarities all across the globe. But then you run into this:
Or a caterpillar that looks like it could eat your arm off. Or a Pondoland snail that appears ready and able to swallow your head. Or naughty monkeys raiding the trash bins in the backyard. Then you stop yourself and say, oh yeaaaaah, I'm in Africa.
